Campbell Mackinnon becomes first Viking to make an Australian senior men’s lacrosse side for World Championships

Congratulations to Campbell Mackinnon on making the 2023 Australian side. Campbell becomes the first Altona player to make the Australian men’s side. Campbell is one of the Mackinnon family whose name is synonymous with lacrosse at Altona. Campbell has been a dominant player for several years now and leads an exciting group of young players representing Altona in State League.

A big shoutout also goes to Lachlan McDonald for making it to the final selections. The centre spot was probably the most contested position with many fine players vying for two spots. It was always going to be tough and to get so far in the selection process reflects well on Lachlan’s skill and bodes well for future teams.

Altona Lacrosse is not only lucky to have these incredible young men leading this sport for Victoria, but also mentoring the future of Lacrosse for our Juniors – way to pave the path for those behind you boys! You make us proud…go Vikings.
