This year to increase competition and involvement in the senior women’s competition Lacrosse Victoria have made changes to the completion structure.
There will be a new league the combines the current State League and A-Grade competitions called the Premier League. This league will have 9 teams including the Altona Women’s side. 2017 A-Grade teams will player each other twice and each SL side once. At the end of the season the top four sides will play in the State League finals and the next four will play in the A-Grade finals.
To extend the season LV will also run a 3 week draft completion. Player interested in the draft need to submit their applications to LV by the 5th of March. To apply send you name and club email@example.com.
Additionally, players should be aware that the Australian Lacrosse Association has adopted IFLA rules for all national completions. WA and SA have adopted the rules for the season and LV is considering changing as well.
Preseason for all seniors, men and women will begin Tuesday 30th of January 2018, 6:00pm start. BYO drink bottle.
Preseason for all juniors will commence at a later date to be announced, however all juniors welcome to come down have a run and throw and even participate in the running, strength and conditioning training.
who made the Victorian Under 18 Girls and Boys teams to compete in the 2018 Nationals held in South Australia later this year. All four join recent Altona juniors to make selection, Cameron Keenan, Lachlan McDonald and Nick Burgess in just the last few years. It is very promising for the Altona Lacrosse Club as all of these six boys also play in our senior State League Men’s Team with Lauren McMahon a major player in our Women’s A-Grade Team.

Congratulations to Altona junior players Aaron Lewer, Eden Hana-Roberts and Logan Tapuala (Wyndham Lacrosse) on winning the 2017 U15 Boys National Championships held in Perth, Western Australia. The boys continue the Western Metros Team winning streak with the team bringing home the trophy at the 2016 Championships.
Congratulations also to Altona juniors Lauren McMahon, Dylan Kukucka and Thomas Bennet-Hullins for competing in the tournament. Lauren playing in the Victorian U15 Ice team and Dylan and Thomas in the Presidents team.

Congratulations to Altona juniors William McDonald, Joel Kukucka and Kieren McMahon on breaking the drought by bringing home the 2016 Under 15 Boys Nationals Winners Trophy. William was one of the captains of the Western Metros team who along with all Altona boys played a big part in the final game.
